About Us

There are a lot of reasons why we’ve created this site.

Probably first and foremost is our frustration with the fact that not many people really know all the great things going on in the Valley Springs area (BTW- Wallace, Burson, Jenny Lind, Milton, Paloma...Mokelumne Hill, San Andreas -- don’t worry, you're part of this too. We just needed a website name.)

When I sat down and started listing all the events, clubs, organizations, churches, etc. that exist here I was absolutely amazed. Not to mention the boom in business! There is so much going on here it's really hard to keep track of it all. Now we can.

Over the years many groups have sprung up to help advance Valley Springs in some way. My wife and I are members of a large number of these groups. In attending these meetings we have heard people comment over and over how the efforts of many groups are duplicated. This creates a level of innefficiency that most of us, with our busy lives, can ill afford. Many times we will go to meetings at different groups and the same subjects are covered. We feel a lot more could get done if there was a way to congregate this information. Possibly this could reduce the redundancy and we’d all work more efficiently to improve our little town.

Here it is.

In my meanderings around Valley Springs often times people will say “Wouldn’t it be nice if Valley Springs had …” I’ve heard a lot of fantastic ideas from very visionary people. However these ideas never become more than that because nobody hears them and discusses them. There are so many great visions for our town. Perhaps if we brought them all together even more and better ideas would form. There’s also something about putting an idea to print which helps make it happen. Now its an easy thing to do.

It’s so hard for small clubs and organizations to maintain a website. It’s even harder to get people there to read that website. This site solves both problems. It uses blog technology to make it very easy for the non technical person to keep their information updated. Since so many groups are coming here there is a lot of traffic to the site. The site is well optimized (basically that means the search engines like it). We’ll even be showing you how you can use this site to automatically update your own. One stop blogging. Well I could go on and on about why, but I think you get the idea.
