Submitted by Phil Weaver on Thu, 2008-11-13 23:51.This is an email from Bill Douglas. Bill Douglas has worked tirelessly to promote Tai Chi and Chi Kung for it's health benefits. we have been supporting him for years. I think he's onto something here and I'd like to support him as much as possible in this endeavor. Following is his message.
PTSD and Shou' Shu'
Submitted by Phil Weaver on Sat, 2008-11-01 23:13.I've been pretty involved lately in PTSD researchto figure out why shou shu is so beneficial. I've come up with a lot. I've just put up this page at hubpages on it.
It just touches on my findings out there on the web. If anyone is interested in helping out with this research and such I'd be very appreciative. A little social blogging might be really beneficial in getting the word out. If this knowledge was spread we could help many.

The River of Stink
Submitted by Phil Weaver on Thu, 2008-09-18 00:02.Can anyone tell me why the River of Skulls lately seems to be the river of stink. If you've been there the Calaveras has been getting smelier and smellier over about the last month.
I noticed a sulfurous putrescence about a month ago. Because the river was very low at the time I attributed it to exposed decaying alge or something. But the river has been both extremely high and extremely low over the last month and the stench is still there regardless of level.
It's a hydrogen sulfide smell and it seems to be strongest at the base of the dam.

WALLACE MAKES “CALIFORNIA HISTORY”
Submitted by Sal Manna on Sat, 2008-09-06 23:28.Articles related to Calaveras County in “California History,” the scholarly magazine of the California Historical Society published quarterly since 1922, are rare. But the lead essay in Volume 85, Number 4, available this month, not only partly concerns West Calaveras but was written by local author Sal Manna, President and Founder of the Society for the Preservation of West Calaveras History, and monthly "Something From Nothing" columnist for the Valley Springs News.
