in my defense

In regards to my blog, I am a constituent and I find it very disconcerting that Russ Thomas's knee jerk reaction to my comment is so antagonistic. He feels like screaming??? His reaction is a prelude to what the voters can can expect should he be elected. Imagine his response to the kind of attacks he has so generously heaped upon Victoria Erickson throughout this campaign while she has continued to focus on the issues. Running for office is emotionally exhausting. The grace with which one carries themself through the process speaks volumes. I hope the voters will keep this in mind.

Who wouldn't?

Scream: to utter a sudden high-pitched, loud cry because of fear, pain or shock.Yes, it was both painful and shocking to see 6 years of my work so trivialized, discredited, and misrepresented in Ms. Duncan's "facts" about how the Copperopolis Community Plan has been written. Now, her latest blog seems to suggest that it would have been more "graceful" for me to simply remain silent. I think not. Russ Thomas

TO Terry BAiley:In response to my blog.  According to page 1 (the introduction) of the Copperopolis Community Plan the plan group began in 1998 not 2000.  This fact is supported by Russ Thomas's own web site under the "press release" section  dated 8/4/5. I can't imagine a better source for facts regarding the community plan then the document itself. In regards to the "pay raise".  My understanding is that you voted to tie all elected officials pay increases to each other.  An automatic 2% cost of living increase was part of this package.  In order for the board to deny themselves, they would have to deny the auditor, the coroner, the sheriff, the districy attorney and the recorder.  By the same token, it could be said that by tying them together you were able to hide your pay raises.  Denying the annual 2% cost of living increase to the board would deprive the other elected officials as well. Please be advised that my comments regarding Oak Canyon Ranch pointed to the fact that Bailey approved the general plan amendment that resulted in the increased density we are so fearful of.  Changing the subject in order to redirect attention away from what she did is not working on me, nor should it on your readers.
