The Prevent Child Abuse Calaveras Council (PCACC) is an advisory board appointed by the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors dedicated to ensuring safe, abuse free environments for every child in Calaveras County. All services are provided for free and are completely confidential. Our Vision: Every child has the right to live in a safe, abuse free environment. Our Mission:The Prevent Child Abuse Calaveras Council is committed to protecting the children of Calaveras County from any form of abuse; physical, emotional, or sexual, by providing children, families and the community choices and options through prevention, education, intervention and action. 2005 General Statistics
Hotline call reports (referrals) received:
We received a total of 813 reports of child abuse, involving a total of 847 children.
• 339 of the referrals were evaluated out.
• 474 of the referrals were investigated.
• 126 were responded to within 2 hours.
• The rest were usually investigated within 10 days.
The 813 reports alleged the following types of child abuse:
• Neglect = 463
